Breast Check

Aside

Just had a phone call from a friend to tell me the Mammogram Van is in the area and I may be too late. I have slipped up this year - usually I am the one reminding everybody. Two of my friends owe the early detection of breast cancer to a visit to the big white van when neither of them had any visible signs.

Fortunately I have just managed to get an appointment for next week and they don't appesr to think I am too old to bother about. Please all of you to whom it is relevant, find out when the van is going to be in your area and make an appointment. No-one seems to have see anything about it in the local paper so it's worth doing a bit of investigation.
Good luck everybody:)

Have you seen that glove you can get from Lloyds pharmacy?
It's all right I AM a doctor.
It's a glove you wear while you're examining... you know... and there you have it.
I've no idea why I started all this

Doc: I know your heart is in the right place. I had heard but will investigate further. I'm afraid I tend to be of the don't prod and poke school and rely on normal observation. Maybe I should buck my ideas up. Thanks for the heads up. (I learned that from my American friends)

I had mine about 3 months ago, Pat! But thanks for the tip. We all need to be reminded of that.

Very good advice Pi, nobody is sheltered!
Until now I followed you by interposed blog and truthfully, I addressed you some words while staying out of the way!
It was not very polished in my part! Then I address you one good morning in direct with sincerity.

Amicably

Doc: fate is against us - now I can't get into your comment box.
You're right my first story has disappeared from Patorpi but my latest 'Sarah's Secret' is there

Hot from the press. Unfortunately it won't go on the 'Storyteller's blog'. I've spent hours trying. Damn and blast!

Great reminder Pat. And how wonderful that there is a VAN that comes to your area..it certainly makes things easier and more accessible, doesn't it?
Thanks for the reminder, my dear.

That's one thing they do very efficiently in France. You get a letter every two years and a free appointment. Three x-rays each side and then you wait for the doctor to examine you and tell you the results there and then.
(Enjoyed the last instalment of your story by the way)

I see a tidal surge is headed your way. Be safe and dry.

Cheers.

Sablonneuse: that sounds less painful than the grape-fruit crushing we have. Glad you enjoyed the story.

Randall: I'll be careful. Thanks for the thought.

Oh Pat, it's three crushings each grapefruit, two sideways and one 'flat'. . . .

sablonneuse: Owwwwwwwwwch!

I was welcomed with enthusiasm a few months ago - I think I was the only person who kept her appointment that morning.

I had rather been thinking 'oh good, now I never have to bother with that again.' And now you've come over sensible and given Good Advice. *sigh*.

Pat said...

Z: you know it makes sens. (Ducks!)

I can do the checking bit though!!!!

*Hee, hee!*

Johng: that's quite enough of that my boy!
