I don't know much about WW1 - or 2 for that matter. I suppose I need to remedy that.

It's a shame that I, like so many others, don't know a much about WW1 or even 2. It's good that you remember those who perished in those wars. Michele sent me today and I'm glad she did!

Judy: here at this time of year it would be difficult to ignore it. Apart from anything else if you are interested in history one can learn such a lot, and hopefully the sheer awfulness of it may discourage more wars.

lgoe: I'm glad you approve - not everybody does:) But I do it anyway.

As long as we're doing more wars, and funding more carnage, we might as well have forgot. We might as well trample on those tender graves for all that awfulness seems to have taught anyone who's ever been in a position to do anything about it.

Have you ever read Three Guineas by Virginia Woolf? It's very good.

Dandelion: no - what is it about? I'll try and google it but I'm behind today.

GG: if I were you I'd be round there for a cup of sugar before you could say knife! He's a sweetie and nice with it. And clever.

It's about how to stop war.

The hypocrisy of our statesmen at the cenotaph just makes me want to puke.

Dandelion: thanks. I'll make a note and try to seek it out.

It's nice and short, as I recall. Let's face it, it's not rocket science :-)
